We celebrated our third annual Epiphany Celebration on January 8, 2010. It was a wonderful community event of song and drama. Over 300 people joined us for dinner in the hall before the celebration. Parishioners of all ages were treated to a pasta dinner, served graciously by students from our Youth Formation Ministry program. Dessert was a slice of "King Cake," in which were hidden three "Baby Jesus" figurines. The lucky recipients of those pieces of cake containing these figurines were crowned our "Kings" (and Queen!) of the Epiphany celebration.
Our program in the Church celebrated the entire Christmas story, from the Annunciation by the Angel Gabriel to Mary that she would conceive and bear a son, to the Adoration of the shepherds and the journey of the Magi, culminating with the Baptism of the Lord in the Jordan River. Despite having had two of our rehearsals "snowed-out", the presentation was as colorful and dramatic as ever! Over 100 people were involved in the presentation, including children and adults of all ages, as well as members of all of our choirs: Children's Choir, Adult Choir and Youth Ensemble. All agree that it was a fabulous celebration and we are all looking forward to 2011!
Enjoy the pictures of our Celebration. We have included some pictures of the dress rehearsal to give you even a greater sense of how much fun everyone had! Please join us next year in this parish-wide celebration!
