"The seven sacraments touch all the stages and all the important moments of Christian life;... there is thus a certain resemblance between the stages of natural life and the stages of spiritual life." (Catechism of the Catholic Church, 1210)
The seven sacraments of the Catholic Church are a rich blessing to us, offering us an opportunity to encounter Christ in a unique way. The sacraments bring us new life, nourish and strengthen us on our spiritual journey, and fortify us to participate fully in the mission of the Church.

The Sacraments of Initiation, - Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist - lay the foundations of every Christian life. (CCC, 1212). Through these sacraments, we become members of the Church, adopted sons and daughters of God, and we grow in knowledge and love of Jesus Christ.
The Sacraments of Healing - Penance and Anointing of the Sick - help us to turn to God and ask for help and forgiveness when we have fallen short in our relationship with God. In these sacraments we seek forgiveness for sin and ask for God to journey with us and strengthen us in times of illness.
The Sacraments of Service to Others - Matrimony and Holy Orders - "confer a particular mission in the Church and serve to build up the People of God." (CCC, 1534) The grace of these sacraments consecrates and blesses the faithful who are called to live their baptismal call to holiness in a particular way, through the service to and love of others.
All of the sacraments are an integral part of the life of our Church and are celebrated regularly at St. Timothy's or in our archdiocese.
